22 players turned up for our First Club Rapidplay (10 mins on the clock) including several first timers! George finished outright first after some very close encounters. Doug was looking good with 4/4 going into the last round but went down on time to George in an equal position. There were many notable performances - SJ was on fire and so was Oliver who both ended up on 4/5. Alice stormed to 3/3 and showed great promise - the trouble with a Swiss Tournament is that if you start off strong you get the hardest draw. Elliot was easily the youngest and played well beyond his bedtime. His play was razor sharp and gained a couple of great scalps!
It was a fun evening and a great chance to meet other members. We hope to make this a monthly event - as well as a monthly Blitz Tournament for the Juniors! So start preparing!
