Portishead Junior Chess Rapidplay

We are really excited to announce the 7th Portishead Junior Rapidplay which will take place at Somerset Hall on Saturday, 31st October! Players of all levels and ages (under 18) are warmly welcomed. For many players this will be their first experience tournament play and we do everything we can to ensure that they have a great experience.

The day runs from 10.00-4.30 and the children play 6 games against other players in their age group. Each round they are paired against a player on the same or similar score (the Swiss System). In that way, after a couple of rounds, the children will be playing opponents at a similar level.

There is a viewing area for parents and guardians as well as a large Refreshment Area. Somerset Hall is on the High St with lots of places to eat out.
