Fantastic Success for A and C Teams!

This week saw, what looked on paper to be two really tough matches. On Monday our all junior C Team played Clevedon C. Hugo won in style on board two but the other three games looked to be in trouble and for a long time it didn’t look like we would get anything from the match. Then, against the run of play, Ibrahim and Cinar, with some luck it has to be said, turned their games around at the very end. That gave us an unexpected 3-1 victory and continues the C team’s recent run of good results.

On Tuesday night, our A team were up against Hanham A who narrowly beat us 3.5-2.5 at home earlier in the season. This looked like it could be a very tough match, especially as Baptiste was unavailable to play. Andrew held his own on board one, but then the wins came tumbling in for Tim, Edward, Oliver, Lana and Santosh to record our biggest ever win - 5.5-0.5. How far this team has come on since the beginning of the season! Now the push is on for promotion!
