End of Season Triumph!

On Monday night both A and B teams were in action at home for their final games of the season. A win for the A team was essential if they were to stand a chance of gaining a promotion spot. The team has been improving throughout the season but there is always a possibility that when the stakes are high, nerves take over! Fortunately, our team did us proud, winning convincingly 5-1 with wins by Baptiste, Andrew, Edward and Lana and draws by Tim and Oliver. Now we just have to wait and see if it'll be enough for promotion.
The B team had a tougher time and were heavily out-graded. I haven't see the games yet but I'm told everything was fine out of the openings and into the middle game - but the games started to fall away from there on in. Something to work on! None-the-less, it has to be remembered that for most of the team, this is their first foray into competitive chess - and that by next season they will be match ready warriors! Final score: 0-4.
