Here’s what’s happening.
This Friday, 23rd February: Junior 6pm, Everyone 7pm.
PLUS @ 7.00pm Andrew will demonstrate a game by Bobby Fischer, possibly the best known chess master of all time.
Monday, 26th February: A Double Header! Both A and B teams will be playing against Downend & Fishponds and Bristol & Clifton.
Friday, 1st March: Junior 6pm, Everyone 7pm.
PLUS @ 7.00pm Andrew will demonstrate a fantastic game by one of the top women players.
Tuesday, 5th March: Our A team play away against Yate and Sodbury.
Friday, 8th March: Our 1st Club Junior Blitz! Starting at 6.00pm there will be 5 rounds with 5 mins on the clock for each player. This will count towards our internal rating system, but not official ECF or FIDE ratings. Just turn up early!
The “Everyone” club meets as usual at 7.00pm.
Friday, 15th March: Our 2nd Club Rapidplay! Starts at 7.00pm, 5 rounds with 10 minutes on the clock. It’s a great opportunity to mingle and meet other club members. Results go towards our internal rating system. New members are always welcome.
Saturday, 16th March: The 2nd South Bristol Junior Rapidplay. A great opportunity for our younger players to test themselves. These events get sold out very quickly Join here https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=2059800561029675&set=gm.766734075489933&type=3
Monday, 18th March: The A Team play South Bristol at home. This could be a crucial match affecting our promotion chances.
Also this month, Cafe Chess takes off! - you’ll more of this very soon. Also will have made more progress on making chess more welcoming for everyone!
