C Team in Second Place after North Bristol Draw

Portishead C Team take on North Bristol B

On Tuesday night four of our players travelled to take on North Bristol B. Matt and Frank both had very good wins on boards 2 and 3 - both games finished in style and neither player was ever in trouble. On boards 1 and 4 we were perhaps unlucky as both games turned on a single miscalculation. Chess can sometimes be cruel!

On the positive side, this team shows huge potential, with all the players improving fast. Although the match was drawn 2-2 in the end, the team still sit prettily in second place and can look to the future with confidence!
