BIG week ahead!

Everything comes to a head this week!

On Monday night, both A and B teams play their final matches of the season against Downend and Bath respectively. If you’re not playing, record “Chess Masters” for later and pop along and watch the real action!

On Friday, it’s a club night as usual. For the juniors, there will be a session (6-7pm) to prepare our players for the Mega Event - the 4th Portishead Junior Rapidplay on Saturday at Somerset Hall!

Then on Saturday, it is the club’s flag ship event - the Junior Rapidplay. Many of our adult players will be there helping out. It’s a big event with lots to do, so if you can help out, that would be great. It’s not just the chess stuff - helping Katina in the kitchen, herding children, taking photos, setting up tables and sets and much more.

After this week, apart from the club championship, the focus returns to social chess and helping members develop as quickly as possible in advance of the new season. Hopefully some of you will sign up for the club’s Chess Development Programme, but we are also very open to any ideas or requests that you may have.
