Our 1st Junior Blitz!

Sixteen young players rocked up last night to take part in our first Junior Blitz Tournament - 5 rounds with each player having only 5 minutes on the clock for all their moves. Despite the fast play rate only a handful of games were lost on time and the standard of play was high. The only downside was that the tournament lasted a little longer than expected and four players had to leave at 7pm missing the last round.

In the end there was a three-way tie for first place involving Mark, who was undefeated, SJ and Edward.

We aim to hold these tournaments once a month. Next week the adults get their chance with a slightly more sedate Rapidplay tournament with 10 minutes on the clock - so roll-up 7pm next Friday!
