Somerset Junior Squad Training

This is a training day for invited players from the Somerset Junior Squad. There will be a series of fun and interactive workshops focussing on each phase of the game either individually or in teams. Players will be divided into groups of similar ability.

This is not only an opportunity to improve rapidly but will enable the selectors to get to know the players better.

Please ensure that you/your child completes the RSVP as there is only a limited amount of space and this will also help us plan the day to suit the players attending.

There will be 4 DBS checked trainers / organisers at the event.

There will not be enough space to accommodate parents during the event. There is only one room at this event at Redcliffe Bay Hall. If your child is under 9 and you or they are anxious about being left then please contact us my email to discuss.

We will set up a WhatsApp group for the day where we will keep you up to date with what is going on, share photos and videos and respond to any questions or issues you may have.

All children should bring a packed lunch with a couple of snacks and a refillable water bottle (all named with a phone number on too please).

Lunch will be taken communally in the hall around 12.30 with a couple of snack breaks. No participant will be allowed to leave the building on the day without a parent or pre-named adult.

The Windmill Inn is a lovely pub overlooking the channel about 5 mins away. You can sit down stairs and eat and even play chess as there are chess sets there !

There is a car park outside and parents are welcome to wait in their cars and pop in to use the kitchen to make themselves hot drinks and use the loos.

One of our volunteers will be on door duty checking the squad in and ensuring no one leaves without a parent . We will have all parents contact details so if your child becomes ill or wants to leave sooner then we will call you immediately .
